Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji (Oshine), a member of the House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Oyo State and the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Funds, has led the committee on an on-the-spot assessment of the ecological situation in Kebbi State on Wednesday, June 5th.
Oshine stated that the team is scheduled to tour all 36 states of the federation to evaluate the ecological conditions across the country.
While addressing the press, he decried the state of destruction witnessed in the Kebbi State environment sequel to erosion, expressing concern about the potential for further damage as the heavy rainy season approaches this year.
Describing the situation as worrisome and life-threatening, he assured that relevant recommendations would be made to the federal government for swift intervention.
He therefore commended the government of Kebbi state on the job done on erosion control and assured of federal intervention in due time.
The Okeho-born lawmaker also emphasized the need for caution in such areas, as carelessness could endanger lives and property.
The Federal Parliamentarian is also a member of the House Committee on Safety Standards, Agric Institution and Petroleum Upstream respectively.
