With a view to actualising the consideration of an Indigene of the marginalised zones to become the governor of Oyo State come 2027 political dispensation, the members of the think-tank/Administrators of the socio-cultural association, who are operating under the banner of “Oke-Ogun Ibarapa Concerned Indigenes” (OICI) have held a physical inaugural meeting to fine-tune the roadmap for the newly established association.

At the instance of kickstarting moves which are poised to change the narrative of agelong marginalisation, and attainment of power shift or rotational governorship in Oyo State, a meeting, which was first of its kind, took place at Nice Channel Hotel, Iseyin on Saturday, 25th January, 2025.
The think-tank/Administrators meeting whose membership were drawn from both Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa Zones gathered to ratify the Communique that was drafted by a five man committee chaired by Hon. Oladele Bello Amelio and scribed by Barr. Abiodun Ogunjimi.
While welcoming others, the OICI Chairman, Engr. Olaifa Dauda, thanked all attendees for their unwavering support, readiness and eagerness which they have shown to the association since its creation.
Atisbo-born Engineer said, the patriotism and concerted efforts which all have given to the struggles have, however, justified that they are ready to technically and diplomatically fight the agelong injustice in Oyo State politics.

In their adherence to the agenda in the Communique after its adoption by the duo of Snr Comrade Pastor Banabas and Comrade Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan, the Chairman called for adoption of the new name “Àjosepò Fún Ìtésíwájú Gbogbo Wa” (Unity for the Progress of All) and its motion was moved and seconded by Chief Pharmacist Olaniran Jibreel Adebayo and Snr Comrade Pastor Banabas.
It would be recalled that the adoption of the new name for the association came to stay with a view to ending debates, arguments and constructive deliberations on earlier suggested names like Pacesetter Equity Forum(PEF), Gomina Oyo, Awalokan(GOAL). Alliance for Equity(AE) and others respectively.
The Slogan, “Ó tó gé, àwa ló kàn” (it is enough, now is our turn) suggests equality, justice, equity, fairness and mutual respect devoid of confrontation. The meeting agreed on using the map of Oyo State with two raise up fists to show togetherness; and also, to say ‘NO’ to oppression, injustice and servitude to man.

Addressing the issue Headquarters for the new association., the meeting adopted the homogeneous ancient town of Iseyin as the headquarters for the forum, by reason of its centrality to the marginalised member zones envisaged to be associated with the alliance, while funding the activities of the movement would be championed by the forum.
In addition to the subject of funding, the new association decided not to get involved in funding any political candidate. The only thing they agreed to do is to use whatever fund they are able to muster to provide all the necessary logistical arrangements that will provide a soft ground for the Òkèògùn candidate that any or both of the major parties decide to give ticket to.
Furthermore, the association agreed on the following:
- To open a new bank account with the new name.
- To have unanimity on nomination of people that would be available to attend meeting at each LGA.
- The nomination of patrons for the forum should be postponed till we undestand people.
They disclosed that offices in Iseyin, Saki, Igebti and Igboho have been taken over and, after the neccesary personnel and furniture had been put in place, the offices would become functional. The secretariat at Iseyin is to liaise with the other stakeholders for collaboration on different matters to move the association forward.

Religious Belief, Political Allegiance, Township Patriotism and Gender Equality were equally discussed. On each of them, members were enjoined to tread with caution to avoid favouritism, nepotism and parochial interest that may mar the efficiency of the struggle.
The forum pledged to extensively mobilize electorate of the alliance zones through all media of communication, and mass meetings/rallies shall be convened to spread to all the towns and villages in Oyo State in support of marginalised zones’ indigene for Governor.
They agreed to bring other zones into alliance, tasking the officers of the forum to spread the goodwill messages of the benefits of rotational governorship to other zones as antidote to good governance in Oyo State. The Forum adopted Yoruba, English, and Igbo languages as language of communication depending on the audience per time.

Towatds the end of the meeting, they prayed for Mr. Oladejo Ajuwon for hosting the Forum in a beffiting place and also provided them all with sumptuous meal.
Finally, among people in attendance were Engr. Olaifa Dauda (Chairman) from Atisbo LG, , Pastor Favour Adewoyin Adewale (General Secretary) from Atisbo/Kajola LGs, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi (Kajola LG), Professor Sifawu Adenike (Itesiwaju LG), Chief Pharm. Olaniran Jibreel Adebayo (Oorelope LG), Comrade Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan (Sakiwest LG), Mr Shittu Yahya (Sakiwest LG), Dr. Ajuwon Oladejo (Iseyin LG), Dr. Amao Nurain Fadare (Iseyin LG), Adeyemi Mathew Ogunfemi (Ibarapa Central), Mr Sunday Ademola (Ibarapa North), Comrade Khalid Imran (Kajola LG), Mr. Akeem Bonuola(Irepo LG), Snr Comrade Pastor Banabas (Ibarapa North) and Mr Olusola Babalola (Olorunsogo LG) respectively.
Earlier, the forum paid a courtesy visit to the palace of Aseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Ajirotutu Adeyeri III, where reasons that orchestrated the birth of the movement were comprehensively presented by the Chairman and General Secretary.
Pastor Favour Adéwoyin, in his clear terms, highlighted religions difference, political blindness and town patronage (townism) as factors which are responsible for retrogression of the zones. He reiterated that, if those things are no longer considered, there is every possibility for attaining the feat of governorship in Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa zones come 2027.
Also, Professor O.J Babayemi maintained that the target of the Forum is not money. According to him, to actualise the goal, getting people to become patriotic and committed people to catch the vision and zeal for the struggle is the main target of the Forum.
Aseyin in his response welcomed them and, however, saluted their courage and conviction on the struggle that is aimed at attaining power shift and rotational governorship in Oyo State.
The monarch enjoined the forum to prioritise seriousness, determination, patriotism and focus, as pivotal factors which could help them change the narrative of agelong marginalisation.
