- NULGE Boss, Atunwa Enumerates achievements, Charges Staff on Punctuality, Dedication to Works
Advice has gone to the staff and entire members of National Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE) in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State to plan their lives ahead of retirement.
This piece of advice was made by the duo of the Council Chairman and Vice Chairman, Hon. Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon and Hon. Gedion Bolanle, while congratulating staff members on auspicious occasion of Staff Get-Together and prayer for the year 2024 tagged ‘NULGE Day’, which held at the conference room of the secretariat complex.
While speaking the Council Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Borikansunwon asked them to plan ahead of their retirement, because life still goes on after 35 years of meritorious services.
The Council Boss said this was the high time each member of staff planned venturing into lucrative businesses and investments that would fetch them money and bountiful gains after retirement.
He however tasked them to ensure they maintain routine check up, in order to know their state of health, which he described as prerequisite that yields works’ efficiency and generation of wealth.
In his own submission, Hon. Gedion Bolanle, the Vice Chairman and Political Head, Iwa Local Council Development Area(LCDA) enjoined staff to regard punctuality, dedication, and efficiency in order to attain the desired results needed in each department.
He tasked them to work and act in line with the standing rules that guide compliance and comportment of staff at work.
The Head of Local Government Government Administration(HLGA), Comrade Alhaji Adeleke Ismail promised to maintain and sustain the existing cordial relationship between the career officers and the staff members.
HLGA added that he and other career officers would ensure that they keep participating at each programme that is being organised by NULGE.
In a speech delivered by the NULGE Chairman, Comrade S.A Atunwa itemised some of the attained achievements of the executives led by him.
He sated that, they were able to renovate the Union’s office in order to take new look, clearing of the environment of the Union’s building inherited from the predecessor yearly, and visit the sick with token’s presentation among others.
Atunwa promised that his led administration would do more in the nearest future, and however pledged that his regime would continue to have respect for fairness, accountability, sincerity and loyalty to the collective dream and aspiration of the members.
He tasked members to take pride in the job by avoiding laziness, absenteeism, lateness and dereliction of duty.
He appreciated God almighty, management and staff for unwavering support since they have taken the mantle of leadership of the great union.
With a view to appreciating the meritorious services of staff, the duo of Pastor Ezekiel Oluleke(Kajola Main Council) and Comrade Mrs Rachael Titilayo Gbadegesin(Iwa LCDA) were presented with Certificates of Awards.
Prayers were offered by Alhaji Imam Soliu Olawale of Ansarul Islam Okeho and Pastor Hezekiah Adebayo for fruition of get-together and prosperity for the year 2024 and beyond.
The epoch making occasion was well attended by the council chairmen, career officers, numerous members of staff, political functionaries and others respectively.
