A 37-year-old man, Muftau Adefalu, has allegedly killed his ex-wife, Yetunde Olayiwole, following a confrontation in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident on Saturday, November 2, 2024, during an interview with The Punch. She stated that the suspect has been taken into custody.
According to Odutola, the tragic event unfolded around 8:00 pm on Friday, November 1, when a disagreement between the former couple escalated into a physical altercation.
During the fight, Olayiwole reportedly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors later confirmed her death.
“The man had a misunderstanding with his ex-wife, which led to a fight. She collapsed during the scuffle and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention,” Odutola said.
Olayiwole’s body has been taken to the Ifo General Hospital morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted. The suspect remains in police custody pending further investigation
