With a view to cushioning the effects of current hardship in the country, Jide Akinlotan For The Needy has collaborated with Dr Mrs Toyin Dosunmu to present cash gifts to some widows and indigent students in Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
The mini events which featured the presentation of cash sealed in white envelopes to some selected widows, simultaneously took place on Sunday, 3rd November, 2024 in the premises of St. Michael Catholic Church, Isia, Okeho and Idiko-Ile in Iwajowa LG where about 50 widows in total benefited from generosity.
Earlier, Mr Dominic Babajide Akinlotan, the facilitator of financial generosity revealed that, the cash gift extended to the widows was Dosunmu’s kindness, aimed at cushioning the effects of hardship and putting smiles on widows ‘ faces.
Idikoile-born Technocrat added that, parts of some students’ school fees have also been paid, in order to avoid their denial of acquisition of knowledge in their various classes.
Akinlotan reiterated that a similar programme had earlier been held in Idiko-Ile where about 25 widows were given cash.
He showered encomiums on the donor for coming up to this act of generosity, when the current situation of the country keeps dealing with many regardless of status.
In his words of advice, Rev. Father Benedict Oluwatoba Joshua enjoined people to show love, kindness and generosity to others without minding race, religions and other dichotomies.
He however thanked the donor and facilitator for coming to the aid of widows, and indigent students whose selection spread across the two dominating religions.
Also, Alhaji Qassim Awelenje who presented the envelopes to the widows reiterated the Reverend father’s stance on alms giving to the poor and needy, and however thanked people who were instrumental to the cash presented to the beneficiaries.
Two of the he beneficiaries : Mrs Elizabeth Babarinde and Mrs Amudalat Azeez in their appreciation, thanked them all for coming to their aid at this material point in time, praying God almighty to replenish them in manifolds.
