The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology Òkehò (FUNATO) has successfully concluded a rigorous temporary recruitment process to select young, qualified individuals for its Security Personnel team.

This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the professionalism, discipline, and efficiency of security operations at the institution.
Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi,
Pioneer Vice-Chancellor
Federal University of Agriculture and Technology Òkehò (FUNATO) made this disclosure while on campus for his preparedness for the engagements ahead.
He said, “the recruitment drive, which concluded yesterday, October 4th, targeted individuals between the ages of 25 and 45. Applicants were required to possess a minimum of five credits in one sitting or six credits in two sittings at the ‘O’ level, including compulsory credits in English Language and Mathematics.”
“Out of a large pool of interested youths, 45 candidates met the stringent academic qualification criteria and proceeded to the aptitude stage. An aptitude test, comprising 50 multiple-choice questions centered on security, was administered under a strict 40-minute time frame.”
Scores from the test ranged from 14 to 50, reflecting varying levels of competence among the participants. Impressively, four exceptional candidates achieved a perfect score of 50/50, a testament to their deep understanding of security matters. Notably, one of these top-scoring candidates was a female.
Following the evaluation, only those candidates who scored above 41/50 were selected to advance to the next stage. These successful candidates will soon commence paramilitary training towards the end of the month.
This new batch of recruits will be strategically positioned to take over from the current community security team, whose planned disengagement coincides with the start of the new personnel’s training.
He affirmed the university’s commitment to security, stating, “Things are getting set. FUNATO will work.” This statement underscores the institution’s proactive approach to ensuring a safe and secure environment for its community.
