It was a history making event on Saturday 4th of November, 2023 as Elero of Ilero, HRM. Oba Abdul-wasiu Zakaryahu Oyedele Olokolonigi Inaugurated new executives of ‘Irepodun Omo Ilero’ an indigenous association which is saddled with development’s responsibility of Ilero town.
The event which was held at the banquet hall of Irepo Community High School, Isale Ilero attracted people from all works of life, far and near who are basically ilero indigenes performing the inauguration.
The ilero indigenes charged the new excos to see the offer as a call to serve, while he was confident with what the exco will deliver on time and in full.
He admonished them to build on the existing foundation and legacy laid by the immediate past executives
, remain focused, and be procreative to the desired development to the ancient town.
According to HRM. Oba Oyedele Zakaryahu, ” the progress ilero town must all inclusive of truly born sons and daughters of Ilero, hence all hands must be on deck let it be the priority of all”.
Elero stressed that the Executives should work together, united and transform Ilero town into meaningful development in terms of standard of education, conducive environment, improved standard of living of the people, political stability without rancor, security, youth development, sensitization/awareness, religious promotion and tolerance social wellbeing as well as unification of all sons and daughters of Ilero.
Promoting peaceful co-existence among others as well ensuring physical development in the town and completion of ongoing projects.
The monarch solicited support for the new executive members to enable them to perform and deliver the variables to the town.

Alhaji Abu called for a change of attitude and orientation of people of Ilero in terms of responsibility and desire towards community development.
He said, he had no doubt that the new excos will deliver, he charged the good people of ilero to co-operate and Support the leadership of Hon. Sunday Bamigbade led executive.
Another speaker at the event Alhaji Lagbaja urged the new exco to be united in purpose, take challenges and be responsible, adding that “Bi nkan baa ni won, o ye koo nii won” meaning if challenges is minimal the solution should be minimal.
He charged them to deliver on unity, equity, fairness and justice, don’t allow personal interest to override your oaths of office, don’t allow somebody out of the fence to demand and influence your conduct and Judgments, operate an open door policy and be stead fast.
In another reaction, a representative of Ilero indigenous Sons/Daughters, Ibadan/Lagos branch congratulated all the new members and Kabiyesi Elero of Ilero for the success recorded in the town so far, while suggesting that they should Coopt each representative from branches into the new exco
Rev. Ajala (a.k.a Ever ready) suggested periodical review of Ifelodun Omo Ilero “Constitution, work on boundary disputes adjustment in collaboration with the government with the neighboring towns and local government, youth awareness champion, Drugs abuse/ Smoking negative and the effect/ impact to the society, promotion of quditative education delivery and accessibility and promote unity.
Rev. Ajala urged the new leadership to ensure wider consultation in their decision making, encouraging self help community driven development strategy, adding that government can not do it alone.

his own speech, the new chairman, Hon. Sunday Ademola Bamigbade. appreciated and thanked almighty God for the gift of life & mercy, favour and love as an Individual and the Ilero Community
He appreciated and thanked the Kabiyesi HMR. Oba Abdul Wasiu Zakariyahu Oyedele Olokonigi whom he described his reign has led the town to record unprecedented record of achievements and prayed that his reign will ast longer and be blessed more abundantly, as well as the Ilero in council, Elders, indigenes and well-wishers.
According to the chairman, he who appreciates little things will surely get more.
He promised to sustain the confidence people reposed in him and his members and work as a team to work the talk and do all that is humanly possible toward the united progress and development of Ilero town, while he solicited for more participation, and support in the journey of progressive community, adding that it is a collective responsibilities.
He said his doors are open to meaningful purposeful suggestions and constructive criticisms. The chairman therefore declared dissolution of ad-hoc committee’s structure of Irepodun Omo Ilero as he took oath of office alongside others executive members in Ilero.
