Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde has assured the people of Iseyin land that the state government will reconstruct the road that links Iseyin with Ikere gorge dam to fast track the completion of power plant project going on in the area by investors.
He also named the LAUTECH Iseyin campus road as Aseyin road in recognition of the support he got from the people of Iseyin in the last general election.

Governor Makinde stated this on Thursday, 14th December at the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the new Aseyin of Iseyin land,Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyori lll Ajirotutu1.
The programme, which was the official recognition of the 30th Aseyin, held at IDGS, was graced by three deputy governors, Senators both past and serving, political bigwigs, traditional rulers across the state and beyond, captains of industries, government functionaries and the large gathering of Iseyin sons and daughters who came from all walks of life.

In his address, Governor Makinde disclosed that he has signed an executive order 2023 for the protection of mining communities in the state.
The governor stressed that the executive order is expected to address abnormalities in the activities of illegal miners and also to safeguard the interest of the communities and the state at large.
According to him, the state resources are being carted away with nothing coming back to the community and the state as a result of activities of illegal miners.

He commended Aseyin king makers for their fairness and diligence in the selection process that led to the emergence of the new Aseyin.
Also speaking at the occasion, Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari,Former Deputy Governor Chief Amid Gbadamosi, the chief of staff to the state governor Mr Segun Ogunwuyi and Chief Owonikoko charged the new monarch to be alive to his responsibility to change the narrative of the ancient town.
In their goodwill messages,son of the soil Chief Omokunmi Mustapha, a member, Federal House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Hon Najeemdeen Oyeshina Oyedeji ,Former Member Federal House of Assembly Hon Olasupo Abiodun, member of Oyo State House of Assembly for Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, Chairman Iseyin Local Government Mr Mufutau Abilawon,Former Chairman Iseyin Local Government Hon Saheed Yusuf Alaran, Chairman Iseyin Development Union Comrade Ajewumi Sulaimon and Chairperson Iseyin Development Union Abuja branch Mrs Mojirade Obisiji in their separate views charged the new Aseyin to sustain and promote the enviable cultural heritage of iseyin land.

They also called on Iseyin Indigenes to contribute their quotas to the development of the town.
The Sabigana of Iganna,Alageere of Ago aare,Elero of Ilero,Gegun of Ayetoro ile,Oniro of Otu,Bagijan of Ilaji ile,Onidiko of Idiko ago and Olokaka of okaka among others explained the significance of beaded crown to the Yoruba race and the role of traditional rulers as symbols of Yoruba cultural heritage.
They charged the new Aseyin to seek for guidance and live up to expectation by promoting peaceful coexistence among his subjects.
