- Issues Strong Communique After Constituency Meeting Held in Ado-Awaye
The All Progressives Congress, APC in Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State has endorsed the candidature of former Deputy Governor(1999-2001) , His Excellency, Chief Barrister Iyiola Oladokun as party leader in the zone.
Motion for adoption of his candidature was moved by Hon. Boonuola Azeez, who served as Commissioner during the regime of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, and unanimously endorsed by the stakeholders and representatives of Oke-Ogun APC at the constituency meeting held in Ado-Awaye, Iseyin Local Government.
The meeting presided over by Barr. Iyiola Oladokun and held on Tuesday ,10th December, comprised stakeholders and representatives of Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola Local Governments as it addressed the positions of the party yesterday, its current stand and how it should look like in the years to come.
At the end of the brainstorming and fruitful deliberation, stakeholders and representatives signed the issued communique as appears below
After reviewing the situation reports from various local governments within Oke Ogun, the All
Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders resolved as follows:
1.Support for the President:
We express our unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and the commendable
programs of His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-in-Chief of
the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Tinubu Pains will definitely bring Tinubu Gains.
- Acknowledgment of Leadership:
While the meeting’s aim was not to anoint His Excellency, Chief Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, as the
Leader of APC in Oyo State, we acknowledge and support his exemplary leadership qualities at
both the zonal and state levels.We give our unwavering support for the acting party chairman of
APC in Oyo state. Alhaji Olaide Abass. - Gratitude to Elected Officials:
We appreciate the contributions of our elected officials, past and present, to the development of
Oke Ogun. However, we urge them to redouble their efforts for the progress of our zone.
4.Unity and Love Among Party Members:
We call on all party members to foster unity and love for one another to ensure the party’s future
prosperity and success.
- Encouragement of Gender Balance:
We advocate for gender balance at all levels of the party to promote inclusivity and equity. - Avoidance of Internal Conflicts:
Party members are advised to desist from casting aspersions against one another. Instead, we
should embrace a spirit and culture that promote unity of purpose and harmony for the party’s
progression. - Commitment to APC Success in 2027:
Members across the 10 local governments of Oke Ogun reaffirm their commitment to ensuring
the success of the APC at all levels in the 2027 elections. That members should committed to
the core values of the progressive party and not to the Aspirants.
8.Oke Ogun Aspiration for 2027.
In the spirit of fairness and justice we are committed to power rotation among the Three
Senatorial Districts of Oyo State and also Oke Ogun producing the next Senator of Oyo North
Senatorial District.
- Neglect of Oke Ogun by the Present Government in Oyo State
We condemn in its totality the neglect of Oke Ogun by OYSG in infrastructure development.
Most of our roads are in deplorable conditions and OYSG give a deaf ear to the cry of the
people of Oke Ogun.
The meeting had in attendance of the three former deputy governors, His Excellencies Iyiola Oladokun, Moses Alake, Engr Rauf Olaniyan and former Minister of Communication, Barr. Bayo Shittu.
Also, Members of the House of Representatives and Oyo State House of Assembly whose names include Hon. Tajudeen Abiodun Were (Atisbo/SakiEast/Sakiwest FC/, Hon. Ibrahim Shittu (Sakiwest SC), Hon. Musbau Azeez Action (Kajola SC), and Oorelope SC respectively.
Ex Commissioner’s, party leaders, party chairmen, Progressive ex parliamentarians, stakeholders and representatives across Oke-Ogun zone were in attendance.
