The Class of 1977 Old Students’ Association of Iseyin-Koso Baptist Basic School in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, has issued a passionate appeal to government bodies at all levels and fellow alumni associations to urgently address the severely deteriorating conditions plaguing their alma mater. The plea was made on Friday, May 9th, during a formal presentation of customized exercise books to the school’s pupils.

Speaking at the event, Engr. Kolawole Bello, President of the 1977 set, emphasized the urgent need for intervention to revitalize the school’s environment, which he described as being in a deplorable state. He implored the government and other former students to collaborate in a concerted effort to comprehensively rescue the institution.

Engr. Bello highlighted that the provision of the customized exercise books was a direct fulfillment of a promise made during a previous donation on August 31st, 2024, when the 1977 set provided the school with a deep well and an electric spraying machine. He further pledged the association’s commitment to annual contributions aimed at supporting parents and pupils in fostering a conducive learning atmosphere.

The significant event, held within the school premises, centered on the official handover of the specially designed exercise books to the students and the presentation of special gifts of appreciation to distinguished attendees.
The Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Rasaq Fadiran, who was represented by the Leader of the House, Hon. Saminu Kehinde, alongside the Political Head of Iseyin South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Solomon Oladipupo, and the Substantive Headmistress of Baptist Basic School, Mrs. Ajekiigbe Abigail, were among the dignitaries who lauded the 1977 set for their commendable generosity towards their former school. They collectively urged the association and other alumni groups to unite in their efforts to create an optimal and supportive environment for the pupils’ education.

The heartwarming program, which brought evident joy to the faces of the pupils , was well-attended by members of the 1977 Old Students’ Association, the Political Head of Iseyin South LCDA, the Leader of the House, supervisory councilors, headmistresses from various schools, teachers, and key stakeholders in the education sector. Their presence underscored the collective concern and commitment to the welfare and progress of Iseyin-Koso Baptist Basic School.
